Literature Text

Let me tell you,
about a boy I know,
whose smiling eyes,
are bright as gold,
like the songs,
in which he played,
on those key November days.

Let me tell you,
about his face,
though freckled slight,
and best embrace,
the warmest touch, and what it does,
how it feels,
to have his love.

Let me tell you,
about his laugh,
which burns a fire in my soul.
His quaint, uncanny chaff,
it ignites me as a whole.

Let me tell you,
what he says,
on whispered silent nights,
and also what he says,
to calm me in my frights.
When he pulls me strangely close,
and when his words drip thick with dread,
all my thoughts are comatose,
except thoughts of him,
inside my head.

Let me tell you,
when they try to steal,
my tired, tattered heart,
he will not think twice,
on tearing them apart.
But only with his eyes,
for he is not really,
one to compromise.
though he will seek his vengeance,
on all who do me harm,
not he is one to mess with,
when he has me to guard.

Let me tell you,
how I hold him near,
how he never strays,
and how he makes it clear,
that I am his alone.

Oh, let me tell you,
how on that very first day,
I met a boy that got away.
He then came back,
and made me stay.
And this boy who stole me,
day by day,
and night by night,
fought for me,
with all his might.

Oh, how I fell,
for this man,
and love him still,
with all I can.
This is by far, the most time and emotion I have ever dared to put into one of my poems.
So naturally, it is about someone very special to me.

You know who you are, luff.
